Thursday May 24, 2012. Singers by Appointment only 11:00am-1:00pm. Dancers Open Call 2:00 pm. Possible callbacks on Friday, May 25. You may not be called back but you must be prepared for the possibility. Located at the historic Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs.

No. Dance auditions are "Open Call", starting at 2:00 p.m.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR THE SINGING AUDITION?
You will need to bring sheet music or a CD. A pianist and CD player will be provided. You also have the choice to sing a capella. You should be prepared to sing 1 verse and 1 chorus only of an up tempo song and a ballad. You are to choose which one you would like to sing for us. The other one is only if we ask you to sing a second song. You may be asked to stay for the afternoon dance audition. In preparation for being asked to stay for the dance audition, please bring tap shoes, shoes that are comfortable to learn a jazz routine in and comfortable dancewear. Ladies should also bring a pair of heels, a leotard and tights.
HOW MUCH TIME WILL I BE ALLOWED TO SING?
You are allowed to sing one song one minute or less in length.
IF I AM AUDITIONING AS A SINGER, WILL I HAVE TO DANCE?
After your singing audition, you may be asked to return in the afternoon to attend our dance audition; however, it is not required that you be a dancer to attend our singing audition.
IF I AUDITION AS A DANCER, WILL I HAVE TO SING?
There is a possibility that you will be asked to sing. If you do not have a song prepared, we have a book that you can choose a song from or you may sing a capella.
IF I AUDITION AS A SINGER AND AM ASKED TO RETURN FOR THE AFTERNOON, CAN I STAY AND WAIT?
You are more than welcome to stay and wait in the lobby of the theatre. However, there are many restaurants located in the area to have lunch during this break.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR THE DANCE AUDITION?
You will need to bring tap shoes, something comfortable to learn a jazz routine in, and if you are female, a pair of high heels. Ladies must wear a leotard and tights ONLY, no dance pants.

WHAT IS MY COMMITMENT TO THE FOLLIES IF I AM CAST IN THE ENSEMBLE?
The performance season is from November through the end of May. There are 9 shows a week. There are 2 days off a week, but you may be required to work on one of those days. The rehearsal period approximately begins in middle of August. In addition you are required to come to Palm Springs for fittings prior to the rehearsal period. Rehearsals are five days a week, though you may be required to work a 6th day during this time.

Approximately the middle of June 2011.
