  • The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies has been seen by nearly three million patrons to date, and celebrates the music and dance of the '40s, '50s, '60s and '70s with a cast ranging in age from 58 to 82 years "young."
  • The show features lavish, Broadway-caliber production numbers, and an entirely new show is mounted each season.
  • The Follies 21st season runs November 1, 2011 through May 20, 2012, and plays five days, most weeks. This season's edition is entitled Hot! Hot! Hot! and celebrates endless summer holidays in a city where the sun shines 12 months a year!
  • The Follies' internationally renowned guest stars and variety acts are among the greatest names in show business today. This season's guests include:

John Davidson, November 1 — December 31, 2011

We are delighted to welcome back this multi-talented performer with irrepressible charm. He made his film debut in the Disney musical, The Happiest Millionaire; starred in the original Broadway production of State Fair; and hosted the hit TV shows That's Incredible! and the long-running Hollywood Squares.

Maureen McGovern, January 5 — March 10, 2012

This Grammy-nominated artist is now making her long awaited Follies' debut. Her first hit was "The Morning After," from the motion picture The Poseidon Adventure, and earned it an Oscar; and her, a Gold Record and a #1 slot on the Billboard Charts. Her follow-up hits include "We May Never Love Like This Again" and "Can You Read My Mind?"

The Diamonds, March 13 — May 20, 2012

Their 1957 release of "Little Darlin'" became an instant million-seller. Their other hits include "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" and the chart topping "The Stroll," which became a national dance craze after their multiple appearances on American Bandstand

Brad Cummings & "Rex", All Season

Back by popular demand is ventriloquist extraordinaire Brad Cummings and his prehistoric sidekick "Rex," the dinosaur. You demanded an encore engagement and we happily obliged!

  • The Follies is the creation of impresario Riff Markowitz, a former television producer, and partner Mary Jardin. They took over the then-vacant, historic Plaza Theatre and turned it into the home of one of the most successful shows of its kind in the world.
  • The theater's lighting grid contains 326 individual lighting instruments.
  • The wardrobe for each season's Follies contains 1,500 individual pieces. Costumes now reach up to 11 feet in diameter and cost up to $35,000 each. Twelve backstage dressers are required to assist the ladies and gentlemen of the Follies with their changes, which can be as short as 75 seconds.

  • The Follies has a staff of over 100 people, making it one of the largest employers in the Palm Springs area.
  • The Fabulous Palm Spring Follies is performed at the historic Plaza Theatre — a charming, neon-encrusted, storybook movie house — which is an attraction unto itself. Located in the heart of the Village of Palm Springs, it opened in 1936 for the gala world premiere of the motion picture, Camille. In addition, numerous Bob Hope radio broadcasts originated from the theater as well as The Jack Benny Radio Show and live performances by Frank Sinatra, Gordon MacRae and others.
